Conservative Treatment of a Symptomatic Os Vesalianum Pedis in a Professional Soccer Player: A Case Report

Objectives: Symptomatic os vesalianum pedis (OVP), a small accessory bone located adjacent to the base of 5th metatarsal foot, rarely affects individuals who participate in sports. The condition typically is treated with surgical intervention. This case report documents examination, evaluation, and treatment approach for professional soccer player conservatively symptomatic OVP. Methods: A nineteen-year-old presented pain left metatarsal. Physical examination imaging resulted diagnosis underwent 5-stage criterion-based rehabilitation program. Results: successfully completed 7.5-week program that included comprehensive return-to-play progression. received clearance return play has continued professionally without restriction.
